La Cornue

A Foundation for Extraordinary Design

Textures x John Michael Studio x La Cornue

Luxury design is rarely about a single element. The most memorable spaces are the result of exceptional materials working together to create a complete experience.

Recently, Textures had the opportunity to collaborate with John Michael Studio on their signature showroom in Chester, South Carolina, supporting the launch of their new La Cornue cabinetry collaboration. Known for creating some of the world’s finest handcrafted metal cabinetry, John Michael Studio has built a reputation around extraordinary craftsmanship, timeless design, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

The showroom showcases bespoke cabinetry inspired by the iconic colors and character of La Cornue, the legendary French range manufacturer whose products have long represented the pinnacle of culinary luxury. Together, the two brands have created a kitchen environment that feels both sophisticated and deeply personal.

Our contribution was simple, yet foundational. Textures provided the hardwood flooring and wall cladding that establish the architectural backdrop for the space. Much like a well-designed home, the flooring grounds the experience while the wood elements introduce warmth, scale, and authenticity. The result allows the cabinetry, appliances, and finishes to be viewed in context rather than isolation.

What makes this project particularly compelling is the dialogue between materials. Warm wood surfaces balance the precision of handcrafted metal cabinetry. Natural texture softens bold color. Tradition meets innovation. It is a thoughtful example of how luxury design is often defined not by individual products, but by how those products relate to one another.

At Textures, we believe our role is to create the foundation upon which great design can flourish. This collaboration with John Michael Studio is a wonderful example of that philosophy brought to life.

We are grateful to the John Michael team for the opportunity and look forward to future collaborations that continue to elevate the conversation around craftsmanship, materiality, and luxury living.
